This work was designed for Karakuri Puzzle Party in Hakone 2018.
“Is it possible to make items of system such as Binary or Ternary with avery clear design?” I wondered about this so I decided to try and see if Icould do it. There are only 3 “drawers”. It is the minimum number that weneed to fully enjoy the system. There are only 2 devices. When you havesolved the puzzle, you can finally open the bottom drawer. The mechanismused for RF-38 “Canon Chest” was used.
This is a drawer of Ternary system. It takes 18 moves to open (exceptfor opening the lid). When all the 3 “drawers” are opened, you can open thebottom drawer. RF-4 “Super-CUBI” has 6 sides, and it has many more moves. Infact, only 2/3 of the performance is used. But, the performance is fullyutilized on this item. The maximum moves are 3 “drawers”.
